The Tulsa University Drilling Research Projects invites applications for a Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate.  The selected candidate will work under general supervision of the Director of Drilling Research Projects on diversified projects related to drilling fluids and mechanics that are sponsored mostly by oil and gas industry. 

 

Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and a proven record of publication or other research achievements.  Preference will be given to candidates with good knowledge of fluid and solids mechanics and, in particular, flow of compressible fluids, non-Newtonian fluids and heat transfer.  Applicants should have experience with flow loops, data acquisition systems and a strong interest in experimental development and theoretical modeling.  Applicants should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills for writing technical papers/documents and interacting with students and industrial/government representatives.
